Northwest London Resource Centre

Founded in 2002, by a group of local youth, the Northwest London Resource Centre proudly serves Northwest London as a community connector, hub for youth programming and advocate for the needs of the neighbourhood.

We believe everyone has the right to be part of a strong and connected community. We are committed to strengthening our community through programming, being responsive to emergent needs, and raising awareness of our services. Through the implementation of this strategic plan, we look forward to a brighter future.

We invite you to donate non-perishable food items in the bin located in the main foyer of our church, as well you can donate financially through the donations page on the Northwest London Resource Centre website.

The following items are currently of great need in our community:

  • Hygiene items

  • Baby diapers size 6

  • Baby formula

  • Pasta Sauce

  • Tuna

  • Cereal.

Advocate Connections

Advocate Connections is a non-profit, charitable organization whose aim is to empower the homeless and marginalized individuals to achieve self-efficacy and social justice. The roll of on advocate is to offer independent support to those who feel they are not being heard and to ensure they are taken seriously and that their rights are respected.

The following is a list of items Advocate Connections needs for outreach to encampments and a list of items for their community members who are going from homelessness to housing.

We invite you to donate any of the items listed below in the bin located in the atrium of our church. If you would like to donate financially, please email Brenda Newton-Taylor.

Outreach to Encampments Items List:

  • Tents (2 person)

  • Sleeping bags

  • Batteries - AA or AAA are preferred

  • Rain ponchos

  • Baby wipes - no alcohol

  • Soap, shampoo, deodorant, combs, hair elastics

  • Toothpaste, toothbrushes

  • Large garbage bags

  • Tampons/pads

  • Band-aids (boxes with one size)

  • Packaged hot chocolate

  • Nescafe sweet and creamy coffee sachets (box of 18 sachets with coffee, cream and sugar included)

  • Disposable coffee cups, stir sticks

  • Package of tissues

  • Adult colouring books, word search books

  • Pencils, pencil sharpener, pencil crayons

Community Members Housing Items List:

  • Dishes, cups, bowls, storage containers, cutlery

  • Pots, pans, spatula and other cooking/baking items

  • Dish rack and drain board

  • Walmart gift card for supplies and food

  • Shower curtain (with hooks), bathroom mat

  • Dish detergent, laundry soap, laundry dryer sheets

  • Coffee maker

  • Towels, washcloths, dishcloth, tea towels

  • Broom, dust pan, mop, bucket

  • Small garbage pail, garbage bags
